Disney's Beach
Club Villas
This Robert A.M. Stern-designed
Disney Vacation Club property reflects the architecture of the
oceanfront houses found in Cape May, NJ, in the early part of
the 20th-century. Adjoining the Beach Club Resort and within a
very short walking distance to Epcot, it shares all facilities
with the Yacht and Beach Club, including the wonderful Stormalong Bay pool. Cape Cod–style villas are washed in a
soothing teal green bordered with sparkling white latticework
trim. All units have either a garden (although many so-called
garden view units overlook Epcot Resorts Blvd.) or pool view
each with a balcony or patio. Check-in is located at the Beach
Club Resort. See the above Beach Club Resort for recreation,
services, restaurants, libations, transportation, and shopping.
The Beach Club Villas has its own quiet pool, Dunes Cove, with
whirlpool, lockers, and restrooms. 205 units. 1900 Epcot
Resorts Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830; 407-934-2175; Fax
407-934-3850. Check-in 4
p.m.; check-out 11
a.m. For reservations call 407-WDW-MAGIC or your travel
agent.

Villas
choices are studios as well as one and two-bedroom units
(three-bedroom units are not offered at this property), each
with a nice balcony or patio. Ocean blue and sea green
furnishings and fabrics intermingle with pickled blue on white
furniture, rattan chairs, and seahorse, seashell, and dolphin
decorative tiles. Seaside framed prints decorate the soft
peach–colored walls, and the carpeting is imprinted with a
vine motif. Kitchens come with granite countertops, and
bedrooms feature cream-colored scrolled metal headboards and
morning glory print spreads.

The
356-square-foot Studios sleep a maximum of four people plus
one child under 3 and include a queen bed, double sleeper
sofa, armoire with TV, small table and two cushioned rattan
chairs, patio or balcony, microwave, mini-refrigerator, coffee
maker, and wet bar. Baths have a single sink with hairdryer
and a separate, small bath/commode area. A small closet holds
an iron and ironing board. The decor is a bit different in the
studios with a coral reef pattern bedspread and curtains, soft
blue wooden headboards, and a pastel plaid sofa bed. Just
slightly larger than the next-door Beach Club guestrooms,
their advantage is the addition of a sleeper sofa and
mini-kitchen but at a higher nightly rate.
The
One-Bedroom Villa, at 727 square feet, sleeps a maximum of
four plus one child under age 3. Each unit has a small
living area with a queen sleeper sofa, reading chair,
entertainment center containing a TV/DVD player, 5-person
booth-style dining table, and a balcony or patio. The
small but adequate kitchen, open to the living area,
contains a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker,
toaster, microwave, and all utensils, dishes, and pots and
pans to make a complete meal. The spacious bedroom holds a
king-size bed, armoire with TV, desk, and sea green easy
chair as well as an additional patio or balcony. It
adjoins a two-room bath, one with a whirlpool tub, vanity
sink, and walk-in closet with a laptop-size safe, iron,
and ironing board, while the other contains a commode
(within an enclosure), shower, and an additional
freestanding sink. A nice feature is the stacked
washer/dryer.

one-bedroom with the addition of a studio bedroom, which adds up
to two bathrooms, two bedrooms, living area, kitchen, three TVs,
and three balconies or porches. |
