Accommodations

Walt Disney World® Resort is rich in choices for the deluxe traveler, but which resort is truly best for you? Let’s try to narrow down the field of possibilities by pinpointing your party’s personality and preferences.

Those traveling with small children will find themselves spending quite a bit of time at Magic Kingdom® Park. They should strongly consider choosing one of the Magic Kingdom Resorts where the park is just a short monorail hop away and easily accessible for a quick afternoon nap or a dip in the pool.

Adults traveling without children or with older children will probably enjoy being closer to Epcot ® and Disney’s Hollywood Studios®. It’s just a short walk, boat ride, or Skyliner trip away to both parks from any of the excellent Epcot resorts. You’ll also find a world of possibilities in nearby dining and entertainment.

Those who enjoy nature and prefer a quiet, more isolated resort should opt for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge where hundreds of animals roam just below your room balcony. Or you could try Disney’s Wilderness Lodge surrounded by the pine forest fronting Bay Lake. If the convenience and comfort of a living area and kitchen are appealing, think about one of the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts located throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Also, consider room type preferences. Is a view of the water or pool important, or would you rather pay less and have a vista of the resort’s gardens? Will a standard room be all that you need, or should you consider one on the concierge level or maybe a roomy suite? Suites in each of the deluxe resorts come in virtually all shapes and sizes, some as large as 2,000 or more square feet, certainly the most luxurious option if your pocketbook allows. Of course, budget, together with how much time you plan to spend in your room, are significant considerations and will play a large part in your decision.

If hanging out at your resort sounds appealing, Club Level rooms and suites are a smart idea. These accommodations, usually located on a keyed-access floor, come with the use of a private lounge with complimentary continental breakfast, snacks throughout the day, before-dinner hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and late evening cordials and desserts. These amenities are in addition to private check-in and checkout and the assistance of a concierge staff ready to help you with dining reservations, recreation, special event tickets, or anything else within their power. It’s definitely a nice plus for your vacation.
