The Golden State is the theme at Disneyland’s sister park, Disney California Adventure® Park. Opened in 2001, it has been a work in progress over the years. Still, the addition of Cars Land in 2012 and its excellent main attraction, Radiator Springs Racers, along with the reimagined land of Pixar Pier and the addition of Avengers Campus turned a ho-hum park into one hopping and popular spot. Buena Vista Street, an exemplary re-creation of Los Angeles in the 1920s and ‘30s, complete with a bronzed statue of Walt and Mickey to greet you on arrival, is a sure winner. Hop on the Red Car Trolley, L.A.’s transportation system until the early ’60s, at the park’s entrance and travel to Hollywood Land’s passing a replica of the Carthay Circle Theater. A good soaking on Grizzly River Run, a wild spin on Toy Story Mania!, and one heck of a scare on Incredicoaster are just a few of the exciting thrills you’ll find in this kick of a park. And for Marvel fans, Avengers Campus is the place to be!
