Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy Staterooms and Suites

One of the things Disney Cruise Line does particularly well is designing staterooms with families in mind, and the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are wonderful examples. Both ships offer a wide variety of accommodations, from comfortable inside staterooms to spacious Concierge suites, with thoughtful touches that make life at sea a little easier.

I'm especially fond of Disney's split-bathroom design, found in many of the staterooms. Having one bathroom with a sink and toilet and another with a sink and shower or bathtub makes an enormous difference when everyone is trying to get ready for dinner! Many also feature a round bathtub with a built-in seat, particularly convenient when traveling with young children.

Clever storage is plentiful, too. Luggage fits neatly under the beds, drawers and shelves hold everyone's belongings, and even the coffee table opens to reveal extra storage. The queen-size beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the nautical-inspired furnishings, warm wood finishes, and attractive fabrics give the rooms a welcoming feel.

Of course, choosing the right stateroom is about more than finding a place to sleep. The number of guests traveling together, how much space you want, your preferred location on the ship, and whether you want a private verandah can all make a difference. And for those looking for something extra special, the Concierge staterooms and suites offer an entirely different level of comfort and service.

Standard Staterooms

The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy offer a wonderful selection of staterooms, from spacious family accommodations with private verandahs to comfortable inside staterooms. Even the smaller accommodations have clever features, and several categories sleep families of five.

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah — Category 4

One of my favorite choices for families wanting a little extra space without moving up to Concierge. These staterooms offer 299 square feet, including the verandah, and sleep three to five guests. You'll find a queen-size bed, sleeper sofa, and pull-down bed in select rooms, along with Disney's convenient split bathroom. Category 4E staterooms on Deck 5 have particularly deep verandahs, although their interior living space is similar to the smaller Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah — Categories 5 and 6

Offering 246 square feet, including the verandah, these staterooms accommodate three or four guests. Each features a queen-size bed, sleeper sofa, and pull-down bed in select rooms. A private verandah is a wonderful addition to a Disney cruise, especially if you want a little quiet time enjoying the ocean views.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Navigator's Verandah — Category 7

These staterooms offer 246 square feet, including the verandah, and accommodate three or four guests. The Navigator's Verandah is more enclosed than a traditional verandah, with part of the view framed by the ship's exterior. Personally, I prefer the unobstructed views of a traditional verandah, but this can be an appealing alternative depending on the location and price.

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom — Category 8

If you don't need a verandah, these are a terrific option. Offering approximately 241 square feet and sleeping three to five guests, they feature enormous porthole windows that practically bring the ocean into your room! Some have lovely window seats, while Category 8A staterooms feature two smaller square portholes. Most include a split bathroom with a round bathtub and shower. Keep in mind that some Deck 6 staterooms overlook the lifeboats, although the views aren't necessarily obstructed.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom — Category 9

These comfortable staterooms offer 204 square feet and accommodate three or four guests. They feature a queen-size bed, sleeper sofa, and pull-down bed in select rooms. The portholes are smaller than those in the Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms, and some locations have partially obstructed views. They're a good choice for families who want natural light and an ocean view without the additional expense of a verandah.

Deluxe Inside Stateroom — Category 10

I'm not usually a fan of inside staterooms, but the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have something special: the Magical Porthole! This virtual window displays real-time views from outside the ship, complete with occasional surprise appearances by Disney characters. Offering 204 square feet and sleeping three or four guests, these staterooms also feature Disney's convenient split bathroom. And when you're ready for bed, simply switch off the Magical Porthole.

Standard Inside Stateroom — Category 11

At 169 square feet, these are the smallest staterooms aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy and accommodate three or four guests. They also feature the Magical Porthole, but unlike the Deluxe Inside Staterooms, they have a single bathroom rather than the split-bath design. For families who plan to spend most of their time enjoying the ship, they're an economical way to experience Disney Cruise Line.

Concierge Staterooms and Suites

If you're looking for something truly special aboard the Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy, the Concierge accommodations are wonderful! Located on Decks 11 and 12, these beautifully appointed staterooms and suites feature elegant furnishings, rich wood finishes, lovely shades of sea blue and chocolate brown, and deeper verandahs than standard accommodations. The suites are especially impressive, with separate living areas, luxurious bathrooms, and plenty of space to spread out.

Of course, one of the best reasons to book Concierge is everything it includes. Guests enjoy access to the exclusive Concierge Lounge, with breakfast, refreshments, afternoon snacks, evening cocktails, and appetizers, plus a private sundeck with comfortable loungers and whirlpool spas. Dedicated Concierge hosts assist with onboard arrangements, while pre-arrival services help guests plan dining, activities, and other experiences before sailing. These extras can make an enormous difference in how you enjoy your cruise.

Royal Concierge Suite with Verandah — Category R

The Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney Royal Suites are simply spectacular! Enter through a marble foyer into an enormous Art Deco living room with sweeping views over the bow through floor-to-ceiling windows. Beautiful burled wood furnishings, a curved chenille sofa, an eight-person dining table, a wet bar, and an oversized television create a wonderfully elegant space. There's even a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, wine refrigerator, and cappuccino machine.

The bedroom is equally impressive, with a queen-size bed, a television that rises at the foot of the bed, twinkling ceiling lights, and a walk-in closet. The luxurious master bathroom features double sinks, a whirlpool tub, separate rain and steam showers, and a television built into the mirror. A second full bathroom is located near the entrance. Best of all, the enormous wraparound verandah offers a private Jacuzzi and plenty of comfortable seating. Located on Deck 12, each Royal Suite sleeps five guests in 1,781 square feet, including the verandah.

For a splendidly luxurious family reunion, it’s possible to connect these two top suites with a central one-bedroom suite and two Family Concierge Staterooms to accommodate up to 25 guests, with three suites and two staterooms wrapping the bow of the ship (the staterooms open to each other in the Suites’ foyer, and verandahs all open to each other if requested). Category T, One-bedroom Concierge Suite with Verandah. These beautiful suites are an excellent choice if you want a separate bedroom, a spacious living area, and a second bathroom. The entrance hall features two closets and a full bathroom, while the master bedroom offers a queen-size bed, walk-in closet, and luxurious bathroom with double sinks, a whirlpool tub, and a separate shower. 

The living room includes a dining table for four, a desk, a convertible sofa, and a pull-down bed. Some suites connect to a Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom, creating a wonderful two-bedroom arrangement for larger families. Located on Decks 11 and 12, these suites sleep five guests in 622 square feet, including the verandah. Category V Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. These staterooms are a terrific introduction to the Disney Concierge experience. Similar in layout to the non-Concierge Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms, they feature upgraded furnishings, a deeper verandah, and accommodations for up to five guests. You'll find a queen-size bed, a comfortable sleeper sofa, an upper-berth pull-down bed, and Disney's convenient split bathroom with a round bathtub and shower.

Located on Decks 11 and 12, these staterooms offer 306 square feet, including the verandah. They're a wonderful choice for families who want all the benefits of Concierge without booking a larger suite.
